my favorite place to do this is the AMC 24 at downtown disney.

my plan was to finally see harry potter in the goblet of fire, and i wanted to catch walk the line as well...

however these pimp glasses and the opportunity to see chicken little in 3-D totally changed my plans !!

i wonder if this was the only theater showing it in 3D ?

cranberry day.

i like the "idea" of cranberry day, soooo much better than turkey day...

for obvious reasons.

my mom sent me a e-card that said happy cranberry day, so i can't claim
the origination of this day... but from hence forth, i have decided i will
be celebrating cranberry day in place of the aforementioned day .......

i feel that this is kind of like "festivius for the rest of us".

without further a do, i would like to extend a

HAPPY CRANBERRY DAY to all readers of the diaries.

i-pod-ism and katrina re-visited.

wow. what amazing craziness has conspired since the last time i made a post here....

katrina --  that seriously put me into a weird spiral of energy, confusion, and a great deal of sadness because i have spent so many great times in that city the world calls new orleans.

thankfully, i have found a way to bring myself out of the low energy, that now in reflection, i know was brought on by the cnn coverage of the event...   and the great irony to me is that one big factor that played a role in helping me to feel positively for the future of new orleans occured on cnn this morning...   this hip lady who looked to be in her mid 50s peddaled her bike to the site where the cnn camera crew was set up this morning somewhere on I-10, and she spoke of how her house was very livable, and that as of this morning she had water access, and that she knew electricity would be back on very soon. she also said that at her house they had planned very well and had plenty to eat and lots of bottles water....

i know that some did not have the advantage of their homes being on higher ground, and so even if they did have supplies, that would not matter.....  but just the spirit that this woman carried through the airwaves on cnn this morning made me feel great hope for the rebuilding of the big easy....     i also talked with my friend chelle today who had just moved into an apartment in the garden distict of the french quarter 2 months ago...   she is ok, she has her powerbook(this is the second question i asked, after are u ok)... and just today she went to the westbank area of new orleans and retrieved her car...  which did manage to still have gas after all of the siphoning going on.....    she is in great spirits considering she has no idea what she is going to do for the next few months while she waits to go back to the city that she still wants to call home.   but she is positive and i am so happy about each and every person that is bringing positive energy to new orleans and the whole gulf coast.

with me, chelle, and morgan freeman helping to bring new orleans back, it will happen !!

and now, for the i-pod-ism :

so after just getting my first ipod a few short weeks ago...

(for a conscise and informative mini history of the ipod, if found this page which also has a great picture of a silver mini the model that i just bought a few weeks back)

it is now a collector's edition because as of yesterday the mini has been replaced --

by

the nano

this little gem is amazing......

so i know that this is the ipod my brother and everyone else is going to want.....

all i can saw is wow.

i watched the quicktime video of the release with steve jobs today at work... it was cool, there was a cameo appearance of madonna on i-chat with steve talking about putting all her albums in the itunes store.  it was comical to see those two on i-chat together...

and along with the new ipod release, itunes 5 was introduced as well....  so i downloaded that today, and .....

probably the most exciting thing i did today with the help of my friend matt aka peanutbutter cornbread, was discover the website, drumroll please,

http://www.archive.org

i can't even type words great enough to describe this freakin' collaboration.....  i love the slogan:

                                            universal access to human knowledge

so if you click the audio tab at the top,  it will bring you to a page with a guitar, then click the link,
Browse bands in the Live Music Archive, and you will be amazed at how much you will find.....

i downloaded the whole show that the grateful dead played on 'the' night that i was born, which by the way was played in portland, oregon....  i might have been born in mississippi but i could feel the vibes in oregon that night !!

so this has become a marathon of a post.....  i hope you have enjoyed the ride.    thank you and good night.

procrastination.

so even though, i feel like i have been keeping my life fairly organized and productive lately...

more motivation can only help...  so i will be attending a procrastination workshop tommorrow.

the workshop will be presented by diane ross.  procrastination does seem to be a theme today though.

i was listening to hayhouse radio earlier, and it was driving a few key points home...
the main idea was that there are some things that you just aren't ever going to feel like doing
so you just have to resolve and/or make a plan to do them.  the best people i know who have
the power to do this are born under the astrological sign of leo.  somehow all the leos i know
just dive into what needs to be done and completes the task...  they don't seem to drag out the
process, thinking about it, planning it, talking about it, etc.... they just do it.  i have always
admired this trait that i feel is somehow inherent in the nature of leos.

i also discovered recently that procrastinators are often perfectionists....
hence the are looking for the "perfect time" to do something.

well tommorrow will be the perfect time to go to this workshop,
i have resolved and made a plan to go.........

by tommorrow we should be feeling the energies of katrina

new job and gigantour at hardrock live.

so, posting that horoscope about Steve Jobs must of been a good luck charm.

i am now a "mac specialist" at the apple retail store at millenia mall....

i am still working with hard rock, however, i knew that we would be coming into "off season" in the next few weeks, so i wanted to find something extra... i did not expect to find that something extra so soon. but two weeks ago i walked into the retail store with my friend who is a manager of the hagen-daz at the millenia mall, and he introduced me to one of the store managers, and they just happened to be hiring. two short interviews and a background check later i am hired.  this whole process only started two weeks ago.

today, i had to be at the apple store at 8am ........  we don't open until 10am but there was a meeting.

tonight i am working at the cafe in our new "art bar" serving people who have tickets to this show: the gigantour featuring megadeath.  it should be interesting to say the least.... i am kind of glad in a way that i don't have to tell with "tables" tonight... this will be my first experience working in the "art bar" .... so i will be sure to report back.

must go grab a bite to eat, before the night begins.

free will astrology.

no real news to report right now, however, i had a very interesting horoscope from the orlando weekly:

in his commencement address to Stanford's graduating class, apple ceo Steve Jobs reminisced about the time, many years ago, when he was sacked by the company that he started. "it turned out that getting fired was the best thing that could have happened to me, he said." the heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. "it freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life." in telling you this, i am 'not' predicting that you will lose your job. i want to encourage you to cultivate the frame of mind Jobs described. here's another angle on the perspective i hope you'll make into your permanent modus operandi:

"in times of change, learners inherit the earth," wrote Eric Hoffer, "while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists."

i say:

very well stated, and totally understood.

what does your birthdate mean.....

Your Birthdate: June 3

Being born on the 3rd day of the month is likely to add a good bit of vitality to your life.

The energy of 3 allows you bounce back rapidly from setbacks, physical or mental.

There is a restlessness in your nature, but you seem to be able to portray an easygoing, "couldn't care less" attitude.

You have a natural ability to express yourself in public, and you always make a very good impression.

Good with words, you excel in writing, speaking, and possibly singing.

You are energetic and always a good conversationalist.

You have a keen imagination, but you tend to scatter your energies and become involved with too may superficial matters.

You are affectionate and loving, but sometimes too sensitive.

You are subject to rapid ups and downs.

tata'me tea and sake house

so everyone what is going on in your worlds ?

i am chilling out with my i-book in the corner of this crowded teahouse and sake lounge.

i am really surprised how crowded it is at 11pm on a "tuesday night" .

the beverage of choice tonight was a coconut bubble tea. this is the first time i have enjoyed bubble tea...
its ok but the tapioca balls that are at the bottom that can be sucked up through the extra-large straw actually kind of freak me out.

the table next to me is drinking sapporo.... i would like to drink a sappora. however i should really just go to bed. i have ALOT to accomplish tomorrow.

stoned.

well, first this post was going to be about the fact that "science" has now found a way to create diamonds in the lab...

"There are now two technologies for making diamonds in a laboratory that are virtually indistinguishable from the natural crystals mined from the earth. Apollo Diamond, a Boston firm, has developed a method of growing perfect diamonds in a pressurized chamber, and plans to start selling colored and colorless diamonds this summer. Gemesis, a firm in Sarasota, Florida, has perfected a technology that uses high pressures and temperatures to mimic the way diamonds form naturally in the earth. Gemesis is now selling colored gemstones, including rare yellow and blue diamonds, for up to 75 percent less than the market rate for natural diamonds that are by most measures identical. At least three other companies are known to be working on these technologies. Mother Earth no longer has a monopoly on making diamonds."

the full article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6920717/site/newsweek/

the most interesting thing, other than the obvious in this article was this -

"While the fashion-conscious ponder this question, the diamond industry is in a swoon. More than with any other gem, the market for diamonds is based largely on an illusion. Contrary to their reputation as rare gems, diamonds are relatively common—sapphires and rubies, which are often priced below diamonds, are in fact thousands of times rarer. What makes diamonds expensive and sought after is a deft combination of marketing and carefully controlled supply among a few big companies."

This statement reminded me of what the "jeweler" at kismet ,my favorite gemstore in town, had told me. He said that my birthstone alexandrite was auctually one of, if not, the rarest of gemstones.  This made me very curious about my birthstone.  however, i did not look it up online until tonight, spurred by the diamond article.

so here is what i have learned about birthstones:

"The custom of wearing birthstones probably first became popular in Poland in the fifteenth or sixteenth century. For more information about the history of birthstones, try The Curious Lore of Precious Stones by George Frederick Kunz, a fascinating compendium of all the powers that have been associated with gemstones through the ages. For example, birthstones originally may have been worn each month by everyone, since the powers of the gemstone were heightened during its month. If that is true, to get the full effect, you need to go out and get a full set of twelve and rotate them each year! "

Your birthstones: June 3
Modern birthstone: moonstone or alexandrite

Zodiac gemstone for gemini: agate

Ancient traditional birthstones:

Hebrew: emerald

Roman: emerald

Arabic: agate

Hindu: pearl

Polish: agate

Russian: agate

Guardian angel: muriel

His talismanic stone: emerald

i had not seen moonstoon as my stone before this, however, i had seen pearl used. but here is my favorite:

to check out alexandrite:
http://www.gemstone.org/gem-by-gem/english/alex.html

This rare gemstone is named after the Russian tsar Alexander II (1818-1881), the very first crystals having been discovered in April 1834 in the emerald mines near the Tokovaya River in the Urals. The discovery was made on the day the future tsar came of age.

It is considered a stone of very good omen. In critical situations it is supposed to strengthen the wearer’s intuition, and thus help him or her find new ways forward in situations where logic will not provide an answer. Alexandrite is also reputed to aid creativity and inspire imagination.

taste sensation.

when you take virgil's rootbeer and purely decadent soy delicious

you have a taste sensation that is incredible....  this is one of my new favorite taste treats.

i went to wet n wild yesterday with jayson and jay, it was fun. there is a new water ride there called disco H-2-O.  You ride on a raft built for four into this water tube slide and it dumps you out into this bowl type area that you spin around in with disco balls, and strobe lights, and 70s dance music.... it is a trip...  and yes i do have a slight sunburn on my chest area....  yeeeouuuuch.

hence, my need to cool down with a gourmet vegan rootbeer float. if you desire to taste the finest in beverages such as myself, go check out virgil's site, i was surprised to learn that virgil's is the only rootbeer that is auctually "brewed". cheers.

TGIF.

remember when the acronym "TGIF" was popular ??

thank God its friday.... friday used to be really aggravating to me because i always felt this need to party and socialize on friday nights because that was the "thing" to do on fridays.... but usually whatever it was i would choose to do, would never be as fun or intresting as what i could have accomplished just staying home. remember i say usually, because there is the few times that maybe i would go out of town, or some other cool event would happen, but generally i would always feel friday nights were over-rated.

i now like friday nights due to "optimal living" this worshop i have started attending.... i have been about 4 times now... there was a pause in activities the past 3 fridays due to the florida film festival... but tonight i will be back at the pillars of light center.

tonight we will be uncovering our pyschic abilities with maeda jones... i will try to post about my results.

check out what else i found - showtime is starting a show about a mom selling weed to make ends meet:
http://www.sho.com/site/weeds/home.do?Weeds_img
that is some craziness, yo.

also, i have recently found out that two friends i used to know are now traveling the usa with a vegetable oil powered bus:

http://www.enchantedgypsy.blogspot.com/

when i knew these kidz they lived in a tipee outside eugene oregon.

and speaking of fridays, last friday was great too, i attended a vegetarians of central florida meetup at woodland's an all veggie indian restaurant.

g is for ginger.

could not let the fabulous day of the earth go by with posting....

knowing how i love to post on holidays. i am not really doing anything special to celebrate because:

"EVERY DAY IS EARTH DAY"

well at least that is how this granola eating, sandal wearing, crunchy, natural oil scented hippie sees it.

so deepak chopra has infiltrated my cosmic awareness as deeply as wayne w. dyer has, and thus, i want to provide you with the following:

“G” stands for gratitude, generosity, God, gap, and goal. Gratitude and generosity are natural attributes of an affluent consciousness. Since the only thing to go after is the best, the principle of the highest first, why not adopt God as the role model? After all, no one is more affluent than God, for God is the field of all possibilities.
There is a precise mechanism through which all desires can be manifested. These four steps are as follows:

Step one: You slip into the gap between thoughts. The gap is the window, the corridor, the transformational vortex through which the personal psyche communicates with the cosmic psyche.
Step two: You have a clear intention of a clear goal in the gap.
Step three: You relinquish your attachment to the outcome, because chasing the outcome or getting attached to it entails coming out of the gap.
Step four: You let the universe handle the details.

It is important to have a clear goal in your awareness, but it is also important to relinquish your attachment to the goal. And the goal is in the gap, and the gap is the potentiality to organize and orchestrate the details required to affect any outcome.
Perhaps you recall an instant when you were trying to remember a name and you struggled and struggled, but with no success. Finally, you let go of your attachment to the outcome, and then a little while later the name flashed across the screen of your consciousness. This is the mechanics for the fulfillment of any desire.
When you were struggling to recall the name, the mind was very active and turbulent. But ultimately, out of fatigue and frustration, you let go and the mind became quiet and slowly quieter – perhaps so quiet that it was almost still – and you slipped into the gap where you released your desire, and soon it was handed to you. This is the true meaning of “Ask and you shall receive,” or “Knock and the door shall be opened to you.”
One of the easiest and most effortless ways of slipping into the gap is through the process of meditation. And there are many forms of meditation and prayer that can help us to manifest desires from the level of the gap.

so, i am going to eat indian food with the vegetarians of central florida tonight. bye now.

knowledgism

wow, i was searching tabula rasa and found this website:

http://www.knowledgism.com/

from this website check out this example of the power and value of knowledge:

The story goes that Picasso was sitting at a cafe enjoying the summer morning sun, when a lady came up to him and asked him to sketch a portrait of her.

"Oui Madam" he replied, reaching for his drawing book. Within a matter of minutes he had finished the rendition of his subject, and turning the page to show her, scribbled his price for the portrait on a napkin.

She exploded! "You must be crazy, asking that much! It took you 3 minutes to draw my portrait!"

"Yes Madam" Picasso replied in a slow drawl, "but it took me 40 years to learn how."

i think that is a cute analogy... however, the more i look at this knowledgism website,
the more i feel like jim jones lives there..... hhmmmm......
